El Campesino Homestead

Had a great lunch the other day. We got the lunch specials. They came out quickly and we're perfectly prepared. Fair pricing. Nice atmosphere. Friendly service. Highly recommended.

First visit and it was AMAZING! Alyssa was our server and she was a true rockstar. She was able to answer questions regarding the menu and made sure we were taken care of. Alyssa was top notch. The food and drinks were really good as well and came quicker than fast food. We were almost confused that it was our food because of how quickly it arrived at our table. The large margarita was very large, very delicious, and very well-priced. The Mexican Mule had just the right amount of zing. The restaurant itself was super clean too. Definitely going back!

I've never experienced such fast service. We moved from Texas. We were surprised to find a Mexican restaurant like El Campesino so far up north. The fajita quesadilla is delicious and the mole was on point. The sweetness of the sopapillas was just right and the flan will gently carry you to sleep. We've been to this location and the one in Monroeville and El Campesino has already become one of our favorite restaurants in the Pittsburgh area.

We brought a large group to El Campesino during a busy time, and were incredibly impressed by the service. Despite the crowd, the manager Alyssa went out of her way to accommodate us immediately and made sure everything went smoothly. Her attentiveness truly elevated our experience. The food was also excellent—fresh, flavorful, and served promptly. Highly recommend!

This was my first visit here. Very impromptu and we were so glad we decided to eat here. We had a late lunch so it was not busy, only waited a minute to be seated and only another minute to be waited on! The food was delicious and we tried a small variety... Tacos, enchiladas, tamales, fried rice, refried beans and chips and salsa. No complaints at all!! Tasted great, cooked perfect, nice presentation. The photos attached include everything we ordered. I had lemonade which was delicious also! We did not order from the bar so I can't comment on that service. Our waitress was friendly and provided us with quick service. The restaurant was clean and organized. Overall, a great meal with a nice atmosphere. We will definitely return and recommend stopping in for a meal!!

The food was so good, the prices are fantastic. It’s not too expensive to eat here with your family and the portions are big. Our waitress was so nice, friendly and helpful.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Campesino in the Waterfront, Pittsburgh, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, boasting a charming mix of modern industrial design with authentic Mexican decor, which set the perfect tone for the meal. The food was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish was bursting with flavor, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. I was particularly impressed with how quickly the food was served – an ideal balance of speed without sacrificing quality. Despite it being a relatively quiet day, likely due to the Steelers game, the level of service was impeccable. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal. I must also commend the drinks. The cocktails were expertly crafted, with just the right amount of strength to balance the flavors. They truly hit the mark in delivering a refreshing and potent complement to the meal. However, no dining experience is complete without a clean and comfortable restroom, and while the men's room was decently maintained, I found the one-stall setup somewhat limiting, especially when it's occupied for an extended period, as was the case during my visit. Nonetheless, it was kept clean, which is always appreciated. In summary, El Campesino offers a superb blend of excellent food, swift service, and a pleasant atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine in the Pittsburgh area. My only suggestion would be perhaps to expand the restroom facilities for added convenience. All in all, a solid 4.5 out of 5 for a memorable dining experience!
